My favourite thing mel ever bought me was my dressing gown. It's lovely and soft, and has my name embroidered in red on it (with the X and everything). It also has a hood.
I remember asking mel why she's bought me one with a hood, when I'd never previously expressed any kind of interest in hooded dressing gowns.... She told me it was so i could pretend I was "that wrestler you like" when I walked to the bathroom (she meant kenta kobashi, and c'mon he wasn't even my *favourite*).
*obviously* such behavoiur was always totally benieth me, and much as I was very greatful for the present I always knew i would have prefered the one without the hood.
I'm especially glad I remembered this conversation last night, half way between the shower and my bedroom, as I strode with purpose, hood up, with one hand throwing the shape of a karate chop and the other supporting the first one at the wrist, while the imaginary crowd in my head chanted KO-BASH-I KO-BASH-I......

Tonight I shall be heading down to the Slaughtered Lamb (London) to see Australian band, Snowman, perform at The Gilden Palace Of Sin's album launch..
The last (and only) time I saw Snowman, I was really impressed.. and I must admit I'm rather curious about the headliners too.. they certainly sound interesting.
I guess that's to be expected as they are signed to a label set up by an ex-bad seed, Barry Adamson.
Doors are listed as 7pm.. although I certainly hope they're not on that early!

A perfect gift for girls who love fairies, the i-Fairy is available in pretty pink, a delicate blue or woodland green. Able to flutter and soar like a bird, thanks to a clever flapping wing propulsion system, the i-Fairy is a beautiful way to join in with RC flying fun for anyone who thinks that helicopters and fighter planes are a bit too macho.

Please note, we will not be at our usual place this month – we will be meeting at The Crypt Gallery, St. Pancras Church, Euston Road, London, NW1 2BA between 6pm and 9pm, to view the wonderful artwork by our member Maria and some of her friends. Following this, we will head on to a pub for an optional bite and a drink ;-)=

Right, photo bets. So, I thought a last run in betting from the poll. I gave out a couple of numbers in my posts.
245 on the first day
1306 in a mad frenzy on one day
108 on a slow day
You have two days, the person with the best guess will get five prints of the best shots of the trip.
Poll #1483360 Final chance to place a bet.

I'm thinking of investigating suicide, can anyone give me their thoughts?
obviously I'm talking about the band, I realise the fact I have a suicide shaped hole in my record collection is a travesty. Should one just go with the first album or should one start elsewhere?

Last night was a bit of a right off...all plans cancelled instead nigth nurse, girly film and bed…this morning after long deliberation: bed or work…I went to work…the power of ginger tea...
Tonight a few of us are going to Bluebeard’ Castle and Rites of Spring at the Coliseum, for a bit of ballet…so a day of olbas, satsumas and tea for me to fight the damn cold…and stay awake tonight.

I have taken everything that I can which might help, and put it off for long enough. Time to face going to bed, and hope that the next hour won't involve coughing and choking on stomach acid. I hate being hungry after 8pm and not being able to eat.

I spent the weekend watching movies with the Gent. I rather liked Doghouse (bunch of blokey types go a town and discover that the women are all man-hating, flesh-eating Zombirds) and Eastern Promises (Russian mafia in London), and he seems to have stopped trying to get me to watch any more Saw films. Most of the DLR, part of the train line we needed, and key bits of the tube all being down, we weren't able to make it out on Saturday. Travelling for a total of four or five hours dependent on rail replacement buses in order to have up to three hours of party didn't seem like a good exchange.
Instead, we made chocolate truffles and compared the white and green absinthe. The green has a stronger herbal taste, much more traditional, but the white is very smooth and more pleasant to my tastes. The truffles are lovely and very easy and I am so tempted to make more.
I'm going to have a nice, hot bath, a pizza, and then maybe head out to a free thing in the Docklands this evening. I've got horrible sniffles, though, so I may have to head home early for hot chocolate and bed.
Have a nice week, everyone.

"I wonder if Drogba actually worked it out.
*"Hmm. If Terry DOESN'T give away a penalty for doing three fouls on
Valencia at once, and Cole WASN'T playing Rooney onside by a mile, and I DO
somehow get booked for almost having my lungs kicked out by Evans, then
logically if I go and pull someone down in the box while standing right in
front of the keeper and lunging at the ball in a blatantly offside position,
that must be okay!"* "
Make me laugh anyway
